President's Letter to Shareholders

Dear Shareholders,

As reported in our most recent press release, our Compass team continues to work towards obtaining final approval for our Small Mine Permit for the Massala project area in Mali. While we are not the only company awaiting renewals and new permit approvals, the Compass team benefits from decades of successful development and operation of gold properties in Mali. We have a proven track record in Mali and sound working relationships with the key officials within the mining administration. I want to assure you that while we are patient, we are also proactive to ensure we receive our Massala permit as quickly as possible.

While our work on the permit process continues, we have also been busy on several other initiatives. In this note, I want to provide you with a brief update on two components of our development planning for Massala, which represent the first steps in our broader Small Mine Strategy for Mali.

Massala Plant Development Planning

Over the past year, we have been examining several options and alternatives for constructing, commissioning and operating a gravity concentration plant at Massala. We have reported on several steps in our process that has included bulk sampling from a small pilot plant to test processing methods, actual gold recovery grades compared to assay results, metallurgical testing as well as financing options for a processing solution.

Our objectives have been clear: to identify a solution that would optimize the strategic and economic opportunities that a Small Mine Permit for Massala could provide for our Compass shareholders. We bring exceptional development and operating expertise to Massala with the discipline and focus to reduce the upfront capital investment. This approach benefits our shareholders by reducing both risk and dilution in a way that is seldom achieved by junior exploration companies.

While final plant construction agreements have not yet been concluded, there are some details I can provide.

Over the past several months, our team has been evaluating a relatively simple, modular processing approach designed around crushing, grinding, classification and gravity concentration. The objective is to be ready to commence operations at Massala within months, not years, of our Small Mine Permit being issued.

To that end, Compass has been engaged over the past three months in discussions with an experienced Mali-based mine operator and contractor regarding the design, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of a gravity concentration facility at Massala, along with a turnkey operating arrangement.

Our objective in these negotiations is straightforward: to develop a construction and operating framework that is technically appropriate for Massala, commercially sensible for Compass and capable of being replicated efficiently at other identified targets across our extensive exploration permit areas in Mali.

While we do not control the timeline for receiving the Massala Small Mine Permit approval, advancing our plant development planning now is one way we can position Compass to move quickly once the permit is issued.

To be clear, we do not yet have a definitive plant construction agreement, but we do have confidence in the direction of those discussions, and we look forward to providing a further update as soon as we are in a position to do so.

Planning the Next Phase of Drilling at Massala

As previously reported, we have completed an initial diamond drill program over a small section of the proposed Massala permit area. That work provided useful data about the location, type and orientation of the mineralized structure and has been incorporated into our initial mine planning at Massala. In parallel with our plant planning, our technical team is also refining the next phase of drilling at Massala. The contemplated Phase 2 program is deliberately focused: approximately 600 metres of diamond drilling, comprising 15 planned holes and up to three contingent holes, designed principally to increase geological confidence and better define the continuity and orientation of the mineralized structures. The commencement of this work will likely wait until a Small Mine Permit has been issued.

This is a different objective from a conventional junior exploration drilling program focused primarily on making a new discovery or demonstrating the largest possible resource.

At Massala, our work has been focused on meeting all of the requirements for a Small Mine Permit, including a feasibility study as defined by the current Mining Code (2023) in Mali. As previously discussed, we have not undertaken the sort of feasibility studies and resource calculations typical for large mines where the economic risks are measured in tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions of dollars. The experience of our management and technical team has been relied on for the current planning and development decisions. As we have previously disclosed, this development approach could involve increased uncertainty and technical and economic risks. I can assure you that everyone on our Compass team will be focused on reducing and managing those and all other risks associated with mining development in Mali.

At Massala, our immediate drilling decisions are increasingly being considered in the context of potential mine development, including where additional drilling can add confidence to near-term mine planning and where additional mineralized material may be identified within the proposed Small Mine Permit area. We will also consider how other known prospects within our broader land package could ultimately complement a Small Mine operation at Massala. That development-focused approach will continue to guide the sequencing and scale of our future work.

In closing, I hope you have found this update useful. We have recently enhanced our website and communications resources so all shareholders and interested investors can quickly access up-to-date information on all aspects of Compass Gold. As always, we encourage you to reach out directly with any questions or comments about our progress.

On behalf of our entire Compass team, I sincerely appreciate your continued support.
